Visual Identity design for Ludlow 38, the downtown satellite for contemporary art of the Goethe-Institut New York, was conceived in response to the newly designed exhibition space on New York’s Lower East Side. Devised by New York based artist Martin Beck and architect Ken Saylor, the new space design consists of a series of functional interventions calling into question larger issues of context, scale, institutional identity and conventions of display.
Further to the logo design, the ongoing graphics for Ludlow 38 included stationery design, invites, exhibition graphics, handouts and catalogues, advertisements and two canvas bags.
Tobi Maier has been curating the programme throughout 2011.
